Parenting is full of matches and mismatches! It’s all about reacting to baby’s cues. Matches occur when you give baby what they need to calm down. For example, if baby is crying, you feed them. When baby is fussy, you slow down the interaction. On the other hand, mismatches occur when parents don’t give baby exactly what they need in that moment. Mismatches happen far more often than matches and are completely normal!
