A group of volunteers established a food donation point in Mayfield, Kentucky, as seen on Monday, to help out those affected by the tornadoes that recently hit six US states.
“We are all from this community, nearby, we are trying to do something to help out. We all have friends and family that live here and we are doing all we can to help out”, said Ricky, one of the volunteers.
“It’s just devastating but is great to see all these people being so selfless and coming together and helping complete strangers. They don’t care what everybody’s background or beliefs are, they just want to help,” another volunteer said.
Tornadoes ripped through Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, Kansas, Illinois, and Tennessee on Friday and Saturday, killing at least 88 and destroying over 1,000 homes.

SOT, Kimberly, Volunteer: “We are from a restaurant in La Center, Kentucky, about 45 minutes from here. We run this food track at the plant and decided to just bring it up here, people are donating food, we are cooking it and giving it away to whoever is in need.”
