Locals were in high spirits as Santas dressed in red and blue ran around Liverpool city centre this Sunday, to mark the city’s annual Santa dash.
Participants were happy to be attending, with one saying, “it’s a fantastic experience, really exciting, loads of fun. Really good to see the city out and about on a Sunday morning like this, having fun.”
The event, which was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, attracted around 5,000 people according to official figures. The Santas run a total of 5km around Liverpool’s main city landmarks in order to raise money for a local children’s hospital.
SOT, Participant: “It’ll be a great day out with friends and family, and it’s always a good event.”
SOT, Participants: “We’ve done it a few years now but this is our first one as a married couple.”
SOT, Participants: “Oh it’s a fantastic experience, really exciting, loads of fun. Really good to see the city out and about on a Sunday morning like this, having fun.”
SOT, Participants: “Oh amazing, absolutely amazing, it’s exhilarating to run around Liverpool city centre. It fills your heart with joy and it’s such a fantastic area to run round and seeing everybody in their red and blues it’s really so good.”
