Turkey: Erdogan inaugurates rebuilt Ataturk Cultural Centre in Istanbul

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave a speech at the inauguration of the newly built Ataturk Cultural Centre in Istanbul on Friday.
On stage, actors performed in national costumes to the orchestra. The seats were filled with several hundred guests, including Erdogan’s wife Emine Erdogan.
“With the new Ataturk Cultural Centre, we have created a monumental work that will provide unforgettable cultural and artistic services to Istanbul and the world. Thank god,” said Erdogan.
The architect of the newly constructed opera house was Murat Tabanlioglu. He is the son of architect Hayati Tabanlioglu, the designer of the old building demolished in 2018.
