Local firefighters were seen attempting to control a blaze at Latakia Port early on Tuesday morning, after an Israeli airstrike allegedly struck a container yard.
Storage units and small structures appeared engulfed in flames, whilst charred rubble littered the surrounding area.
According to local reports, a nearby hospital and several shops were also damaged as a result of the fire.
The strike marks the second reported Israeli airstrike in a month on the port, with Syria accusing its neighbour of a similar, smaller-scale attack three weeks prior.
There has been no comment from the Israeli military thus far.
Latakia is Syria’s main commercial port and handles a considerable amount of cargo from Iran.
