Heavy snowfall wreaked havoc on the mountain resort town of Murree on Saturday, paralysing traffic and leaving people stranded under dangerous circumstances.
Residents and tourists attempted to recover their vehicles from under a thick blanket of snow as traffic was heavily disrupted.
The Ministry of Interior stated that over 1.2 metres (4 feet) of snow fell overnight between Friday and Saturday, as temperatures dropped to -8 degrees Celsius (17,6 degrees Fahrenheit).
According to the authorities, at least 22 people have reportedly died as a result of the weather incident, mostly due to hypothermia, as cars became stuck in the snow.
