US Department of State spokesperson Ned Price, and Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria J. Nuland are holding a press briefing on Thursday, January 27, in Washington DC. They are expected to give statements over the escalating tensions on the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
The US, NATO and their European partners have earlier called on Russia to end its build-up of military forces on the border with Ukraine.
Today’s briefing comes after Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said the US and Nato’s formal response to the Kremlin’s security demands were not ‘positive.’ On Wednesday, Washington said that an invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces ‘remains imminent.’
Russia has denied accusations it is amassing forces at the border with the intention of invading Ukraine. Mandatory Credit: US Department of State
