There was a period of time where it looked like high-end makeup effects were going the way of the dodo, being replaced by CGI. While over the last few years, we have seen a sort of resurgence of practical effects within big budget films, it is still largely a dying art. Which is why today, we are gonna take a look at some of the craziest, and most iconic makeup effects in cinema history. How long did Ron Pearlman spend in the chair to become Hellboy? What sort of ground breaking techniques were invented for the original Planet of the Apes? What was the process behind creating the Creature from the Black Lagoon? And what happened to the over 1800 hobbit feet that were produced for the Lord of the Rings films?

How is CGI changing things? Is it good for film overall, or is it destroying the art of it all. Let us know what you think int he comments below! Be sure to subscribe for more podcasts!
