A statue commemorating Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was unveiled in a ceremony held in the city of Absard, Tehran Province, on Sunday.
Fakhrizadeh held the role of Iran’s top nuclear scientist when he was shot and killed while travelling in his car with his wife in Absard on November 27 of 2020. The memorial has been unveiled near the site of the incident.
“Today, a symbol and the memorial of this martyr was unveiled in this place. And it was agreed that in the place of the martyrdom (of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh) a cultural center and a museum will be established to represent the services, struggles, and achievements of this martyr,” said Mohammad Ali Jafari, managing director of the National Museum of the Islamic Revolution and Holy Defense.
Iran has accused Israel for playing a role in the attack, while Israel has declined to comment on the allegations, maintaining its policy of neither confirming nor denying its involvement, as it has done in connection with the four other alleged assassinations of Iranian nuclear scientists since 2010.

SOT, Ali Asghar Sheikhi, Deputy Director of the National Museum of the Islamic Revolution and Holy Defense (Farsi): “All the evil deeds of the enemy are a sign of its weakness, as it robs the scientists of other countries, and attracts them in various forms. Here, because our nation’s resistance prevented it from doing so, it was forced to carry out physical assassinations. But all this and the desperate actions make us continue the path that the martyrs are following in a more serious and hopeful way, God willing.”

SOT, Hamed Fakhrizadeh, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh’s son (Farsi): “They themselves revealed in the Western media, and the latest report, that the New York Times itself revealed, said that the assassination plan was planned in a room with the presence of Trump, Netanyahu, Yossi Cohen, and Pompeo. This was revealed by the Western media.”

SOT, Mahdi Fakhrizadeh, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh’s son (Farsi): “The perpetrators of this incident have seen and will see the results of their work. However, with these issues, the path will not stop and the result is clear.”

SOT, Mohammad Ali Jafari, Deputy Director of the Foundation for the Preservation and Publication of Sacred Defense Works and Values and Managing Director of the National Museum of the Islamic Revolution and Holy Defense (Farsi): “Today, a symbol and the memorial of this martyr was unveiled in this place. And it was agreed that in the place of the martyrdom (of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh) a cultural center and a museum will be established to represent the services, struggles, and achievements of this martyr, his comrades, to show the evil of the domination system and especially the evil regime of Israel so that the young generation and all those who pass by this place, God willing, will be able to visit this complex in the future because it is located next to the main road.”
