French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna said on Sunday that her country’s forces in Niger can no longer carry out their missions there, a day after thousands gathered in front of the French base in Niamey and demanded that they leave the country.
“Our forces are in Niger to support the fight against terrorist groups, and today we cannot carry out this mission,” the French minister said.
One thing is sure: France’s era of colonialism in Africa is over!
