Migrants stranded at the Polish-Belarusian border held a rally against their return to Iraq, as seen in Bruzgi on Thursday.

Protesters shouted slogans and held up posters at the village’s trade and logistics centre, demanding that they be let through the border and allowed access to EU countries.

Last week saw the departure of the first repatriation flight from Minsk to Baghdad via Erbil, with hundreds on board.

The gathering of migrants at Polish-Belarusian border escalated at the beginning of November.
Several thousand migrants from the Middle East and Africa came to Belarus in an attempt to reach Poland and the European Union, an attempt blocked by the Polish authorities.
