🇵🇹 Comedian and actress Amy Poehler warned of the dangers of social media for young women and girls at the 2021 Web Summit in Lisbon.
One of Hollywood’s best-known comedy faces, Poehler has founded “Smart Girls” – a platform that aims to empower girls to change the world by being themselves.
Poehler said on Tuesday that she understood why people choose to engage in social media but decided early on that it wasn’t for her.
The Parks and Recreation star said that women and girls sometimes look “for validation and for a sense of self” on social media.
“And that can be treacherous waters as we all know”, she said.
